Songwriting

I play the guitar and the piano and I sing. I’ve written a few songs over the years. I also play the piano, the violin, and the ukulele. In 2020, one of my songs was featured in this episode of the Welcome to Nightvale podcast. You can find more of my music on bandcamp.

Ealing COVID-19 Mutual Aid

I am part of the team behind Ealing COVID-19 Mutual Aid, a group that supports people and organisations in the London borough of Ealing during the COVID-19 Epidemic. We help individuals who are self-isolating, and also organise donations to hospitals, schools and care homes thoughout the borough. To further support our aims, we founded the Community Interest Company Ealing Community Aid. I am also an NHS volunteer responder.

Translation and Subtitling

I have been translating subtitles for TED talks, mostly from English to German, since 2012. You can find the talks I’ve worked on here. In April 2019, I was invited to attend TED 2019 in Vancouver to represent my language community. I also work as a translator and subtitler for Amara, a platform that aims to increase accessibility of online content.

Theatre Reviews

I go to the theatre regularly, and occasionally write theatre reviews for the F-Word. My favourite playwright is Shakespeare, whose best and much underrated play is Pericles. I also love Chekhov’s work, particularly the Seagull. My favourite director is Maria Aberg. But I’m happy to see anything, really.

Cross stitching r/place

I am part of the team behind the Cross Stitching r/place project, where we are coordinating for hundreds of people to cross stitch sections of r/place, a social experiment that took place on reddit. We will be using this project to raise money for charity.
